Returns and exchanges

Take items back with a credit note, or swap them in one go.

Overview

A return gives a credit note and money back; an exchange does that and the new bill together.

Return

  • O2M records the refund. It does not send the money: pay UPI from your own UPI app, then enter the UTR, the reference number shown in the app.
  • A card refund needs the reference from the card machine.
  • Return and Void stay locked until the reference is entered.
  • The order shows Partly returned or Returned, with the Returned and Net amounts. Reports count the net amount.
  1. 1Click Return and scan the receipt barcode or type the bill number.
  2. 2Enter how many come back and why.
  3. 3Choose how the money goes back and click Return and pay back.

Exchange

Choose Exchange, put the new items on the counter, and O2M makes the credit note and the new bill together. The customer pays or gets back only the difference.

Good to know  A bill can be cancelled only on the day it was made; after that, use a return.
