Your day at the counter

For cashiers: sign in, set your PIN, open the shift, bill, and close the day.

Overview

Your day at the counter: how a cashier signs in, sets a PIN, opens the shift, bills customers and closes the day.

Sign in to O2M with the e-mail and password from your invitation. As a cashier you go straight to the counter; there is no other menu to learn.

On a shared counter that your store has registered, you do not sign in with e-mail at all: the counter shows a lock screen with the names of the staff. Tap your name and type your PIN.

Set your counter PIN

The first time you open the counter, O2M asks you to Set your counter PIN: 4 to 6 digits, typed twice. Use it to switch in on a shared counter. Change it any time with Change PIN at the top of the counter.

Good to know  Avoid easy PINs such as 1111 or 1234; O2M refuses them. Forgot it? Ask your store manager to reset it.

Start the day

  1. 1If your store has more than one counter, pick yours.
  2. 2Count the cash in the drawer and enter it in Opening cash in the drawer.
  3. 3Click Open shift. You are ready to bill.

Bill a customer

  1. 1Scan each item, or type the barcode or SKU. Search finds items by name.
  2. 2Change a quantity if needed. Discounts and price changes work up to your outlet's limits.
  3. 3Leave Walk-in customer, or add the customer's mobile number for a bill in their name.
  4. 4Click Pay: cash (O2M shows the change), UPI, card, or a mix.
  5. 5Click Bill (F12). The receipt prints; you can also send it on WhatsApp.

Tip  Busy queue? Hold parks the bill; Held brings it back.

When you need a manager

If a discount, price change, refund or credit sale is above your limit, the counter shows Store manager approval. Ask your manager to pick their name and type their PIN on your screen.

Returns and exchanges

Click Return, scan the barcode on the customer's receipt, and follow Returns and exchanges.

Hand over or close the day

  • Lock (shared counter): the next person taps their name and types their PIN. Your shift stays open.
  • Shift → Close shift: count the drawer, add a note if it is over or short, and close. Your shift report shows cash, UPI and card, bills and returns.
