Accounting export
Journals and vouchers for Tally or Zoho Books.
Please reach out to your account manager to enable the accounting export for your company.
Overview
The accounting export downloads journals and vouchers for your stock, purchases, fees and sales as Tally XML or Zoho Books CSV.
Why use it
- Post stock and cost of goods to your books without retyping.
- Match ledger names to your chart of accounts.
- Close a period so its journals never change.
Before you begin
- The accounting export is enabled for your company.
What you can export
Enabled for your company on request, the export saves your accountant from retyping stock and purchase entries.
- Stock journals: one journal per day and kind (goods received, cost of goods sold, customer returns, returns to suppliers, write-offs, stock found, opening stock, revaluations, landed costs), at the cost each movement carried. Transfers and kitting stay inside your stock and post nothing.
- Purchase and debit note vouchers: a purchase voucher per supplier invoice and a debit note voucher per return to vendor, with the supplier ledger and GST split.
- Sales and GST (optional): sales journals per day and channel with their GST.
- Fee journals: one journal per day and channel from your fee lines.
Downloading
- 1Choose the period (both dates).
- 2Choose the format: Tally XML, Zoho Books (CSV) or a plain CSV.
- 3Tick the extras you want (vouchers, sales and GST).
- 4Download, and import the file into your books.
Matching your books
- Ledger names can be changed to match your chart of accounts.
- Godown-wise journals: each warehouse gets a godown name and every journal is split by godown.
- Books closed through: fee journals up to this day never change. Each download moves it forward; move it back to reopen a period.
