Introduction
What the Accounting section covers and who can see it.
Please reach out to your account manager to enable Accounting for your company.
Overview
The Accounting section turns your orders, fees and stock movements into profit per order, stock value, GST figures and journals for your books.
Why use it
- Know the real profit of every order, product and channel.
- Value your stock correctly at any date.
- Prepare GST returns and post journals without retyping.
Before you begin
- Each Accounting page is enabled for your company by O2M.
What is in Accounting
The Accounting section turns your orders, fees and stock movements into the numbers your finance team needs. It has four pages, each enabled for your company on its own:
| Page | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Profit and fees (premium) | How much did each order, product and channel really make after cost of goods and every fee? |
| Stock valuation | What is my stock worth, how fast does it turn, and what is dead? |
| GST | How much GST did I charge and pay, and what goes into GSTR-1? |
| Accounting export | Which journals and vouchers do I post to Tally or Zoho Books? |
Good to know Costs, profit and stock value are visible only to people with the See costs permission (Accountants and Admins by default). Everyone else never sees purchase prices or margins.
Where the numbers come from
Orders
revenue before GST
Stock ledger
cost of every unit that left
Fees
channels, couriers, payment gateways
Accounting
profit, value, GST, journals
Nothing is typed twice: revenue comes from your orders, cost of goods from the stock ledger, fees from the channels and the files you upload, and GST from O2M's invoices or the channel's own tax data.
