Bundles and kits

Sell sets made of other products, stored as parts or assembled ahead of time.

Please reach out to your account manager to enable Bundles and kits for your company.

Overview

A bundle is sold as a set but stored as its parts; its stock is how many complete sets the parts allow. A kit is assembled ahead of time and holds its own stock.

Why use it

  • Sell gift sets and combos without counting them separately.
  • Keep bundle stock right on every channel automatically.
  • Assemble or take apart kits with a record.

Before you begin

  • Bundles and kits is enabled for your company.
  • The bundle product has no stock and no open orders.

Bundles

Gift boxes, combos and multipacks usually mean counting the same stock twice. With Bundles and kits (enabled for your company on request), a bundle's stock is worked out from its parts and sent to every channel, so it can never be oversold.

A bundle is a product you sell as a set but store as its parts, for example a gift box of three mugs. It holds no stock of its own. Its number is how many complete sets the components allow, and it updates whenever a component changes.

  1. 1Open the product's item page and choose Make this a bundle (it must have no stock and no open orders).
  2. 2Add components and the units of each per bundle.
  3. 3Save. The bundle's number appears and is sent to channels.

When a bundle is ordered, each component is held, picked, packed, shipped and returned. On a tax invoice, the bundle's price is shared between the components by their own selling prices, each at its own GST rate.

Kits

A kit is assembled ahead of time and holds its own stock. A kitting order assembles kits from components, or takes kits apart.

  1. 1Click New kitting order and choose the kit, assemble or take apart, the warehouse and the quantity.
  2. 2Save as a draft, then click Complete when the work is done.

Important  A bundle cannot contain another bundle, and a kit cannot contain another kit.
