Reservations
Keep units aside so no channel sells them.
Overview
A reservation sets units aside by hand so that no channel sells them. Reserved units stay on hand and in their bins; they simply stop being available.
Why use it
- Hold stock for a B2B buyer, an event or a campaign.
- Receive goods without offering them for sale yet.
- Release the units with one click when you are ready.
Reserving stock
A reservation keeps units aside so no channel sells them, for example stock promised to a B2B buyer, for an exhibition, or for an influencer campaign. Reserved units stay on hand; they simply stop being available.
- 1On the item page, click Reserve.
- 2Choose the warehouse (and Shopify location when relevant), the quantity and a reference such as "Diwali expo".
- 3Save. Available stock drops and every channel is updated.
Releasing a reservation
Open the item's Reserved card and click Release for all or part of it. The units return to Available and channels are updated again.
Good to know With Warehouse Management, a goods receipt can be received with Hold from sale: the units are reserved straight away and offered to channels only when you release the receipt.
