Putaway

Move received units into the right bins.

Overview

Putaway moves received units from the receiving area into storage bins. O2M creates a task for each receipt line and suggests the best bin.

Why use it

  • Get new stock onto shelves quickly.
  • Keep each item in a predictable place.
  • Measure dock-to-stock time.

Putaway tasks

After goods are received (and passed), O2M creates putaway tasks on Stock → Warehouse Management → Putaway, one per receipt line. Returns graded A and units put back from cancelled picks also create tasks.

Suggested bin

Each task suggests a bin, in this order:

  1. 1The item's fixed bin, if it has room.
  2. 2A storage or pick-face bin already holding the item, with room.
  3. 3An empty storage bin.

Putting units away

  1. 1Take a task, or a supervisor assigns it to a person.
  2. 2Carry the units to the suggested bin, or to any other bin in the warehouse.
  3. 3Scan the bin and confirm the units, on the dashboard or in the scanner app. Part of a task can be confirmed and the rest left open.

Good to know  Putaway only moves units between bins, so it never changes Available stock or your channels.
