Rate limits

Each key may make 120 requests a minute unless your company has another limit.

Overview

A rate limit caps how many requests one key can make in a minute, so that no single system can slow the service down.

The limit

Each key may make 120 requests in any 60 seconds. The limit is per key, so one busy system does not hold up another. Your company may have a different limit: every answer states it in X-RateLimit-Limit, and the API keys page shows your usage.

Ask your O2M account manager if your integration needs a higher limit.

Reaching the limit

A request over the limit answers 429 and does nothing. Retry-After says how many seconds to wait.

X-RateLimit-Remaining: 0
Retry-After: 30

Stay within it

  • Use webhooks instead of asking for changes again and again.
  • Read lists with updated_since so you fetch only what changed.
  • Ask for up to 500 rows a page, rather than one row at a time.
  • Watch X-RateLimit-Remaining and slow down before it reaches 0.
