WooCommerce
Create a REST API key in WordPress, connect your WooCommerce store, and import its products.
Overview
The WooCommerce integration connects your WordPress store with a REST API key, so products, orders, refunds, stock and shipping flow between WooCommerce and O2M.
Before you begin
- A WordPress site with the WooCommerce plugin active.
- Your store opens on https:// (a secure address).
- In WordPress, Settings → Permalinks is set to anything except Plain (for example Post name). Without it, WooCommerce cannot answer O2M.
- A WordPress administrator account, to create the API key.
- In O2M: the Admin or Billing admin role, and WooCommerce available for your company.
Create the API key in WordPress
- 1In WordPress admin, open WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
- 2Click Add key.
- 3In Description, type a name you will recognise, such as
O2M. - 4In User, choose an administrator.
- 5In Permissions, choose Read/Write. O2M needs write access to publish products, update stock and mark orders shipped.
- 6Click Generate API key.
- 7Copy the Consumer key (it starts with
ck_) and the Consumer secret (it starts withcs_).
Important WooCommerce shows the consumer secret only once. Paste it into O2M straight away, or keep it somewhere safe. Never send it by e-mail or chat. If it is lost, create a new key and revoke the old one.
Connect WooCommerce
- 1Open Settings → Marketplace and Integrations → Marketplaces and click Connect now on the WooCommerce Site card.
- 2In Store address, type your store's address, such as
https://yourstore.com. Pasting a longer link from your browser is fine; O2M keeps just the address. - 3Paste the Consumer key and Consumer secret.
- 4Click Connect. O2M checks the key with your store before saving it.
Once connected, the window shows your store, when it was connected and how far orders have been checked. The ? button repeats the WordPress steps. Import products brings in your store's products, Change keys replaces the key, and Disconnect removes it.
If connecting fails
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| WooCommerce did not accept these keys | Copy the key and secret again, and check the key has Read/Write permission. A revoked key needs replacing. |
| No WooCommerce API at this address | Check the address, that WooCommerce is active, and that Settings → Permalinks is not Plain. |
| The store sends O2M to another address | Your store redirects (for example to a www address). Enter the address the message names. |
| WooCommerce needs a public HTTPS store address | Use your store's https:// address, without a port number. |
| The consumer key starts with ck_ | The key was copied incompletely or into the wrong field. Copy it again. |
| O2M could not reach the store | Check the store is online and not behind a password or maintenance page. |
After connecting
- Products: O2M imports your store's products. Ones whose SKU is already in O2M are linked at once; the rest wait in Import results.
- Orders: WooCommerce orders appear in Orders with the customer, address, tax, shipping and payment type (cash on delivery or prepaid). A cancelled or failed order releases its stock.
- Refunds: refunded items come back as returns that wait for your team, never straight back on sale.
- Stock: O2M's number is sent to WooCommerce. A change made in WooCommerce admin is brought back into O2M.
- Shipping: when a parcel leaves, O2M adds a note for your customer with the courier, tracking number and tracking link, and marks the order Completed once every parcel has left. If your store uses the Shipment Tracking extension, its tracking fields are filled too.
Good to know WooCommerce has no delivered status. Mark an order delivered in O2M when your courier confirms it.
Change keys or disconnect
To replace the key, create a new one in WordPress, then click Change keys in the WooCommerce window and paste it. To stop syncing, click Disconnect: O2M deletes the stored key. You can also revoke the key in WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
